Call from the United States to the Tajik Interior Ministry’s hotline has helped save distressed man in the Vanj district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
On July 13, the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan received call to its hotline (221-21-21) from the United States.
“The man who introduced himself as Alejandro said that he works with an agency carrying out rescue operations in the United States. He said that he received call from two foreign tourists from Tajikistan who said that a Tajik national got into an emergency. They also reported his coordinates,” said the Interior Ministry’s press center.
The Interior Ministry has reportedly got in touch with the Emergencies Committee and it has been established that the call from two foreign tourists has been made from the Vanj district of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
A rescue team of the Emergencies Committee has been sent to the site. It has turned out that a 53-year-old resident of Dushanbe Fayzullo Yunusov lost control of his car and it turned over in the area between the villages of Shirgovad and Durshed.
According to the Interior Ministry’s press center, eyewitnesses of the accident were two foreign tourists – nationals of the Netherlands Kurch Kraiker and Kamir Burchush (phonetically spelled). They rendered the first aid to the driver and reported the accident to the United States through GPRS satellite.
“The Interior Ministry of Tajikistan expresses gratitude to Mr. Alejandro and the foreign tourists – nationals of the Netherlands Kurch Kraiker and Kamir Burchush – for assistance and rendering the first aid to the Tajik citizen,” said the Interior Ministry’s press center.
