Two gold diggers were killed and another injured on July 27 as rock fall occurred at the Shugnov gold field in Khovaling district of Khatlon province, according to the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan.
The killed drug diggers were identified as the 42-year-old resident of the city of Kulob Bobojon Fayzulloyev and the 31-year-old resident of Panj district (Khatlon province) Dilshod Khudoiyev.
Their bodies were handed over to their families, Ms. Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the Emergencies Committee, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to her, the injured man was identified as resident of the Khovaling district.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted and an investigation is under way.
