Torrential rain on January 29 caused a number of mudflows that flooded residential buildings and garden plots in some villages of Panj district in Khatlon province.   

According to data of the Emergencies Committee under the Government of Tajikistan, mudflows flooded basements of eight residential buildings and garden plots in Namoun village.

In Kaboud Saifiddinov and Pakhtakor villages, mudflows partially damaged 10 residential buildings and 33 garden plots as well as more than 36 hectares of farmlands.

Due to rising water levels in the Kelenchi-2 canal, overflowing water flooded basements of two residential buildings in Ozodagon jamoat.  In Qushqiya mahalla, flood water reportedly rose in basements of six residential buildings and flooded two garden plots.  

No injured was reported, according to an official sources within the Emergencies Committee.
