KULOB, August 31, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Prosecutor-General’s Office has instituted criminal proceedings against Mirzosharif Mahsiddinov, the head of the Kolkhozobod technical inventorying bureau, and transferred the case to the Kulob prosecutor’s office.
Mr. Mahsiddinov faces charges under three articles of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code: Article 246 (misappropriation of funds provided in form of loans); Article 253 (fraud); and Article 264 (illegal receiving of loans).
Anvar Rahmonov, an official with the Kulob prosecutor’s office, has told Asia-Plus that Mirzosharif Mahsiddinov is member of the Kolkhozobod legislature (Majlis), and the Kolkhozobod prosecutor’s office does have the right of instituting criminal proceedings against him until his inviolability is repealed. “That is why the case has been transferred to the Kulob prosecutor’s office,” Anvar Rahmonov said.
According to him, Mr. Mahsiddinov in 1998 received a loan of 15,000 Somonis from the “AgroInvestBonk” headquarters in Dushanbe, registering the documents at the Kulob branch of “AgroInvestBonk. “He now does not want to repay the loan and even does not admit the fact of receiving it,” the prosecutor said.
