DUSHANBE, September 4, Asia-Plus -- The head of the land committee in the Khuroson district, Khatlon, has been detained for bribery.
According to the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, the Khuroson land committee head Usmon Ziyoyev was caught red-handed at the end of last week, while he was taking 600 somonis in bribe form local resident for land-tenure certificate.
The anticorruption agency has instituted criminal proceedings against Ziyoyev and an investigation is under way.
