QURGHON TEPPA, May 3, Asia-Plus -- Ms. Farishtamoh Solehova, gynecologist with regional maternity house # 2 also deputy director of the regional family planning center, has been detained on suspicion of having been involved in bribery, Alfattoh Roziqov, deputy Khatlon prosecutor in charge of the Kulob region, said.
According to him, Solehova demanded 500 somonis from woman in childbirth Nadezhda Shamsiyeva for delivery. Although child was born dead, Solehova on April 30 received 400 somonis from Shamsiyeva’s husband. She was caught red-handed when she was taking money, the prosecutor said.
“Ms Solehova is member of the Kulob city legislature (Majlis),” said Roziqov. “Therefore, after being held in detention center for 48 hours, she was released after giving a written undertaking not to leave the place, and the regional prosecutor’s office intends to request the Kulob legislature for repealing her inviolability.”
