DUSHANBE, June 4, Asia-Plus -- Zayniddin Sayfiddinov, former head of the housing and communal services directorate # 8 in Dushanbe’s Sino district, has been arrested on suspicion of having been involved in bribery.
According to the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption, Sayfiddinov is charged with having taken totaling $34,100 from four local residents, promising to provide them with apartments. Officers from the anticorruption agency arrested Sayfiddinov on June 2.
Criminal proceedings have been instated against him under the provisions of two articles of Tajikistan’s Criminal Code – Article 247 (fraud) and Article 323 (service forgery).
