PANJAKENT, July 8, 2008, Asia-Plus -- Over the first half-year of 2008, the Panjakent prosecutor’s office has issued 137 orders and 110 reclamations over illegal decisions made by heads of local enterprises and farming units, the Panjakent prosecutor Rustam Azizov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, 104 officials have been reprimanded, 94 others have been fined and 131 officials have been penalized under administrative law.
“In all, 36 statements of claim for a total amount of 1.779 million somonis have moved to courts over the report period,” the prosecutor said, noting that 491,718 somonis have been reimbursed.
Commenting on the issued orders and reclamations, Azizov noted that major of them concerned tax debts. He noted that many tax debts had resulted from negligence of local tax authorities.
The Panjakent prosecutor’s office is taking efforts to detect and remove law violations, the prosecutor said.
