KHUJAND, May 12, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Two murders were committed in the northern Sughd province on May 10.
According to the Sughd police directorate, the body of a 40-year-old resident of the village of Qistaquz in the Bobojonghafurov district Bohir Khudoiberdiyev with numerous stab wounds was found on May 10.
“The preliminary investigation has established that on April 21 this year, Khudoiberdiyev and another resident of Qistaquz, a 41-year-old Homid Rizoyev, exchanged their vehicles and Khudoiberdiyev promised to pay 500 dollars to Rizoyev in addition,” said the source, “On May 10, being under the influence of alcohol, Khudoiberdiyev refused to pay the remaining 500 dollars. Following quarrel Rizoyev stabbed him several times.”
Another killing occurred in the Istaravshan district. A 55-year-old resident of the village of Guli Surkh, Olim Yoqubov, beat his 29-year-old wife to death following family quarrel, the source said.
