DUSHANBE, December 3, 2009, Asia-Plus -- Ms. Zarragul Davlatova, the chairperson of the Ozodagon jamoat in the Panj district, Khatlon province has been detained on suspicion of having been involved in bribery.
A source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said that Ms. Davlatova was caught red-handed yesterday when she was taking bribe (US$500) from local resident for allotment of the plot of land to him for housing.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Davlatova and an investigation is under way.
