DUSHANBE, February 7, 2011, Asia-Plus -- A large amount of hashish has been seized in the northern Sughd province.

The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says Adbunaim Abdukarimov, who has several previous convictions, was arrested on February 4 on suspicion of drug pushing.  A package containing narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing 16.68 kilograms was confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Abdukarimov and an investigation is under way, the source said.
