Commander of one of border posts at Tajik-Afghan border was arrested with drugs.
Captain Nizomiddin Yakubov, commander of ‘Pyanj’ border post, was arrested with 20kg of hashish as a result of a special operation conducted by the Tajik State National Security Committee’s office for Khatlon area, the police told AP.
According to the source, Yakubov received drugs from Saimahmud, commander of Afghan’s ‘Tahti Kuhi’ border post.
Nizomiddin Yakubov is facing charges under article 200 part 4 (illegal turnover of drugs or psychotropic agents for further sale) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan. Investigation is still under way, the source added.
