QURGHON TEPPA, October 16, 2014, Asia-Plus -- “Love exciting charm” have landed mullah from the Bokhtar district in Khatlon province, Rahim Ibrohimov, in court.

A court in the city of Qurghon Teppa, the capital of Khatlon province found him guilty of the charge of fraud.

In a ruling handed down at the Qurghon Teppa city court, Judge Saydali Sirojiddin on October 15 fined Rahim Ibrohimov 10,000 somoni for fraud.

According to the judge, Rahim Ibrohimov in July this year promised a woman from Qurghon Teppa, J.Z., to restore her relations with her beloved.  “On July 7 this year, the mullah came to the women’s apartment and wrote “love spell” on her breast.  For this, he took 100.00 somoni from her,” Sirojiddin said.

We will recall that Asadullo Ibrohimov (Rahim Ibrohimov and Asadullo Ibrohimov are not related) from Dushanbe’s Luchob area, who was well-known among locals for providing infertility treatments, was found guilty of charges of sexual misconduct and fraud and sentenced to seven years in prison in October 2013.  He was arrested in September 2013 after a video of one of his infertility-treatment sessions appeared on YouTube.  The Tajik Interior Ministry identified Ibrohimov as the man in the video and pressed charges against him.

The five-minute clip appears to show Ibrohimov consulting with a woman before he begins the treatment while reciting the Koran.  The male figure embraces the woman, fondles and kisses her, and lifts her dress to expose her belly and breasts as he gyrates behind her.

The video quickly became one of the most-viewed Tajik videos on YouTube, earning Ibrohimov the nickname “Magic Mullah” (Mulloi Jodugar).

Tajikistan''s Interior Ministry has identified the victim only as 26-year-old “R.Z.,” a resident of the Rudaki district of Dushanbe. A statement posted on the ministry''s website says Ibrohimov “took advantage of R.Z.''s vulnerable state of mind to conduct sexual misconduct at his home.”

Local authorities in Luchob have acknowledged that Ibrohimov is a member of a prominent religious family and that his brother leads prayers in the area''s grand mosque.

Besides, a video entitled “Jodugari Panjakenti” (Magician from Panjakent) that shows mullah from the village of Maikada confessing to sexual misconduct and fraud appeared on YouTube in early June this year.  According to the video author, the 53-year-old village mullah Asadullo Karimov was allegedly involved in fraud and sexual misconduct in lodgings in Panjakent during nine months.

A voice on the video claims that Asadullo Karimov is member of the Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan (IRP).  Meanwhile, the Islamic Revival Party officially stated on June 4 that Asadullo Karimov was never an IRP member.
