DUSHANBE, October 23, 2015, Asia-Plus – Najmiddin Saidov, the brother of the Customs Service head Abdufattoh Ghoib, has been released after paying a 200,000 somoni fine, according to Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service .

A source in a court in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni Court told RFE/’RL’s Tajik Service that Najmiddin Saidov, who was detained a week ago for a large-scale fraud, has been released after paying a fine of 200,000 somoni.     

Najmiddin Saidov is the head of Tojik Sodirot Bonk (TSB)’s branch in Khalton’s Danghara district.  RFE/RL’s Tajik Service reports representatives of TSB’s branch in Danghara have also confirmed that Saidov is at large.  They say Saidov is on vacation and he will get back to the office soon. 

We will recall that reports about detention of Najmiddin Saidov appeared on October 16.  Najmiddin Saidov was reportedly detained by officers of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) on suspicion of a large-scale bribery.

Tojnews news agency reported that Najmiddin Saidov had been detained on suspicion of a large-scale fraud.

According to Tojnews , Najmiddin Saidov has acted as mediator in the act of handing over a large amount of money.

Meanwhile, Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service reported that Najmiddin Saidov had demanded 600,000 U.S. dollars for the position of the head of the Customs Service’s office in Sughd province.

Najmiddin Saidov was reportedly caught red-handed while taking part of the money.

Criminal institutions were instituted against him; he faced charge of a large-scale bribery.

According to Radio Liberty’s Tajik Service , the Customs Service head Abdufattoh Said, who had previously served as chief of the anticorruption agency, has also been questioned on this case.
