DUSHANBE, January 22, 2016, Asia-Plus -- In 2015, there were 5,331 serious crimes reported, which is 19 percent more than in 2014, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to 2014 there was a 13.3 percent increase in the number of reported cases of robbery.
The number of murders and murder attempts reported in 2015 increased by 13.1 percent compared to 2014.
The number thefts reported increased by 30.8 percent, including thefts from apartments – by 36 percent.
The number of frauds during the report period increased by 23 percent and the number of bribery cases increased last year by 6.8 percent.
Meanwhile, more than 3,060 economic crimes were reported in 2015 (a 5.8 percent increase compared to 2014).
In 2015, there were 582 reported cases of violation of highway safety rules that entailed serious bodily injury and death of the victims.
