DUSHANBE, August 17, 2011, Asia-Plus - Mirzomuhammadi Navid, member of the Political Council of the Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikistan (IRPT) and Chairman’s Councellor for Cultural Affairs, has withdrawn from the party to protest against current policy carried out by the current chairman of the party Muhiddin Kabiri.
In his interview to the AP Navid said that he joined the party during civil confrontation in Tajikistan and still supports the party’s policy. He left the party to protest against the policy carried out by the current chairman.
“Muhiddin Kabiri, current leader of IRPT, used to ignore my opinion and my position regarding IRPT’s activity. That’s why I decided to withdraw from the party,” Navid said.
Former IRPT member stressed that he submitted his resignation letter two months ago, but Kabiri did not even asked him about the reason.
Deputy Chairman of IRPT Mahmadali Khait called the withdrawal of IRPT member to be a natural process. “Additionally, as far as I know, his withdrawal also connected with the fact that Navid got job in the National Library of Tajikistan,” Khait added.
At that Navid said that he heads the Tajik National Library’s Center for the past five years.
“Being creative person I don’t need any position or post,” Navid said.
