DUSHANBE, April 4, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Current state of relations with Tajikistan was reportedly the focus of an extraordinary meeting of Uzbekistan’s National Security Council that took place in Tashkent on April 3.
Information posted on website of Ferghana news agency on April 4 says the meeting discussed relations with neighboring Tajikistan that significantly aggravated lately.
Meanwhile, Zhahon news agency reports the meeting, presided over by President Islam Karimov, also analyzed threats and challenges in Uzbekistan and the region and measures to address these threats.
According to Ferghana news agency, meetings of the National Security Council under the President of Uzbekistan are held not so frequently; the previous meeting was held in April 2009.
