DUSHANBE, December 21, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Many Western experts and politicians have used double standards while defining terrorism and extremism.
The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) leader Muhiddin Kabiri remarked this during a meeting with representatives of various groups of the population in the Asht district, Sughd province on December 20.
“For example, a criminal has killed innocent children in the United States but they call him not terrorist but mentally abnormal person but when really mentally ill person has wounded a schoolgirl in Pakistan they call him Islamic terrorist and stress that Islam is allegedly against schools and education,” IRP leader noted.
While in Asht, Muhiddin Kabiri also met with senior representatives of local authorities and visited local boarding school.
Today, IRP leader has met with representatives of Sughd intelligentsia and youth in IRP’s office in Khujand, the capital of Sughd province.
We will recall that the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) of Tajikistan is seeking broadcasting license to operate its own TV and radio stations.
Founded in October 1990, the Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan was registered on December 4, 1991. It was banned by the Supreme Court in June 1993 and legalized in August 1999. Its official newspaper is Najot (Salvation). According to some sources, IRP now has some 30,000 members. It won two seats in the 2010 parliamentary elections. The Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan is the only Islamic party registered in CIS Central Asia.
