DUSHANBE, September 13, 2013, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan accepted SCO presidency. Tajik President, Emamali Rahman, proposed to develop and adopt the SCO Development Strategy until 2025, during his speech in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit.
President’s press office reports that Mr. Rahman also stressed that during the 12 years of its existence, SCO became an influential international organization.
Tajik leader, while drawing attention of his colleagues to the situation in Afghanistan after 2014, said that SCO member-states are required to provide support to Afghanistan in this crucial period in restoring peace and harmony.
Mr. Rahman, as the new President of SCO, invited the SCO member-states, observer-states and partner-states on SCO dialogue to take part in the next summit of the organization, which will be held in Dushanbe in 2014.
