Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has noted a broad spectrum of cooperation opportunities between the companies of Tajikistan and Qatar.

The Tajik president’s official website says Rahmon remarked this in Qatar’s capital, Doha, on January 22 in his inaugural speech at the Tajik-Qatari Business Forum that took place at Ritz Carlton Hotel and was attended by Qatar's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Qassim Al-Thani.

Rahmon reportedly outlined sectors like agriculture, transport (civil aviation, development of transportation infrastructure and establishment of logistics centers), and tourism (particularly in mountainous, ecological, and health sectors) as areas, which could drive the bilateral trade between the two countries.

Tajik leader emphasized that the Tajikistan government is ready to carefully explore and support proposals from Qatari investors to foster fruitful cooperation in these priority areas.

During his address, Rahmon noted that the goal of the meeting is to provide a more qualitative presentation of the real possibilities for trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries. Attracting investments across various sectors of the economy and promoting entrepreneurial development were identified as key priorities in the economic policy of Tajikistan.

In conclusion, Qatari entrepreneurs, investors, and companies were invited to visit Tajikistan to gain a closer understanding of collaboration opportunities in various mutually beneficial areas, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
