A regular meeting of the Working Group on the implementation of the agreements of the Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Germany was held virtually on June 26, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

The parties reportedly exchanged views on the results of the previous summit in Astana and its practical implementation.

They also agreed that it was important to strengthen cooperation in the areas of regional security, fighting terrorism and extremism, and tackling drug trafficking, as well as addressing other issues of mutual interest.

The Working Group is considered a permanent instrument and, during their meetings, representatives of the Central Asian countries and Germany discuss ways to strengthen regional cooperation and implement a strategic partnership in specific sectors.
