KULOB, February 8, Asia-Plus -- Kulob tax service over-fulfilled tax collection target for January 2006 and transferred to the budget 456,700 Somonis, which is 55,000 Somonis more than the stipulated target.
However, Kulob Mayor, Abdujabbor Zardiyev, speaking at a meeting with participation of senior representatives from the city tax service has criticized them for failure to carry out work properly. “Compared to January 2005 collection of taxes reduced by 35,519 Somonis,” Zardiyev said, noting that arrears for the previous years evoke concern. “In January 2006, a debt on tax collection increased by 83,600 Somonis and as of February 1 2006 it has amounted to more than 1.68 million,” the mayor said.
Zardiyev also noted that situation with transfer of fees to the Fund for Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan has also evoked concern. “Heads of the enterprises and organizations that had not transferred money to the Social Security Fund were reprimanded,” Zardiyev.
