DUSHANBE, April 20, Asia-Plus - On Thursday April 20, visiting Finland’s Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja met with President Emomali Rahmonov.
According to information from presidential press service, the two discussed issues related for establishment of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Finland.
Their talks also focused on a progress of democratization of Tajik society and the presidential election in Tajikistan due in November this year, as well as other regional and international issues being of mutual interest.
Mr. Tuomioja told journalists following his meeting with Rahmonov that during the meeting they also discussed a progress of implementation small civil society development programs sponsored by Finland’s Government.
The Finnish minister also noted that representatives fro Finland would take part in monitoring the presidential election in Tajikistan.
