CSTO security council secretaries gather in Tajik capital to discuss regional security

, April 25, Asia-Plus - A meeting of secretaries of security council from
Central Asia
’s states and the
Russian Federation
is opening in
Dushanbe
tomorrow, April 26.
According to information from the Tajik MFA, the meeting participants include secretaries of security council from
Tajikistan
(Amirqul Azimov),
Kyrgyzstan
(Miroslav Niyazov),
Kazakhstan
(Kenzhebulat Abdyrov),
Russia
(Igor Ivanov), and
Uzbekistan
(Mukhtar Atayev).
The meeting is being held behind closed doors. Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Nikolai Bardyuzha, is also attending the meeting in
Dushanbe
.
The meeting is aiming to consider issues related to providing regional security in
Central Asia
, measures to fight terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking.
