A regular sitting of the second session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (
Deputy Security Minister, Mukhtor Sharipov, commenting on the document noted that scales of terrorism were extending in the era of globalization. Tajik security official termed biannual joint exercises involving sub-units of power-wielding structures from the CIS states and their concerted actions on all directions of activity, exchange of experience and information as measures to counter the extremism manifestations. Thus, since 2000, the Ministry of Security have determined 93 citizens of Tajikistan as dangerous criminals and a list with their names has been submitted to the lawn enforcement agencies of the CIS states for carrying out search operations, according to him. “On March 30 this year, following information by the Ministry of Security and proposals by the Prosecutor-General’s Office a number of organizations such as Al-Qaeda network, Islamic Movement of Eastern Turkestan, Islamic Party “Turkestan”, “Taleban”, “Iqbol ul-Muslimin” and others were recognized the terrorist and extremist organizations and put on the list of organizations banned in Tajikistan,” Tajik security official stressed.

Ms. Galiya Rabiyeva, member of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on International Affairs, Public Associations and Information, speaking to journalists noted that participation of the country’s law enforcement agencies in the implementation of the program for cooperation in fighting terrorism was dedicated both to raise professionalism of the law enforcement officers and to promote coordination of actions between relevant agencies of the CIS states.
