DUSHANBE, August 21, Asia-Plus - President Emomali Rahmonov presided over a meeting with participation of senior representatives from the president’s executive office and heads of a number ministries and organizations on August 21. The meeting was held to discuss a progress of the implementation of president’s decrees and resolutions aimed improvement of social policy in Tajikistan, presidential press service reported.
The source says President Rahmonov urged to resolve problems with the implementation of his edicts and resolutions on pension provision, rendering assistance to vulnerable families, orphan and street children.
He also suggested that that ministries and local authorities in the provinces should provide assistance to those needed ahead of the 15 th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, 2700 th anniversary of Kulob, a Year of Aryan Civilization, and the World Forum of Tajiks and Persian-speaking Peoples.
According to information from presidential press service, President Rahmonov provided his monthly wage for providing assistance to vulnerable people in Gorno Badakhshan. Besides, money will be provided from the presidential reserve fund funds for providing aid to invalids and veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, elderly people who do have relatives to support them, and orphanages in Gorno Badakhshan. Assistance to children includes school uniform, textbooks and other school supplies and food products.
