DUSHANBE, August 24, Asia-Plus - Preparation of celebrations to mark the 15 th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence is under way in Dushanbe.
The Dushanbe mayor yesterday approved a plan of festive events, according to information from the Dushanbe mayoral press service.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, has told Asia-Plus that under this plan heads of the city’s districts should prepare invitation cards and submit a plan of placement of posters to the mayor’s office before September 1.
All repairing works should be finished and territories of around the buildings of “Kokhi Borbad” and “Kokhi Vahdat” as well as around the “Tajikistan”, “Vakhsh”, “Avesto” and “Dushanbe” should be tidied by September.
“A special commission has been set up to monitor a progress of preparatory works,” said Shavkat Saidov, “The commission has to submit a report on readiness of the capita for celebrations by September 5.”
Heads of relevant organizations and enterprises are to install festive compositions and illuminations in the city.
The Dushanbe passenger transport service is to provide transportation for artistes and musical groups.
On sidelines of celebrations to mark the 15 th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Independence, ceremonial meetings will be held in all four districts of Dushanbe on September 7, and festive concert will be held at the “Kokhi Bordad” Complex on September 8.
On September 9, a parade dedicated to Tajikistan’s Independence Day will be held on the Dusti (Friendship) Square S9 and various festive activities will be organized in different areas of the city.
