DUSHANBE, December 4, Asia-Plus - President Rahmonov has appointed Ghaybullo Afzalov to head the Khatlon province.
By president’s decree of December 4 Ghaybullo Afzalov was appointed to head the southern province of Khatlon province, presidential press service reported.
Afzalov has replaced Amirsho Miraliyev in this post. Amirsho Miraliyev had headed the Khatlon province for six years.
Ghaybullo Afzalov had been deputy of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) since 2001. In the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the third convocation, Afzalov was the deputy head of the Committee for Agriculture and Employment. Before that he had served as deputy governor of the Khatlon province.
