DUSHANBE, December 18, Asia-Plus - Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament has elected new chairmen of the Constitutional and the Supreme courts of the country.
The eighth session of the Majlisi Milli presided over by its head Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev was held on December 15.
Shavkat Saidov, Aide to the Majlisi Milli Chairman for Public Relations, said that the session had recalled Zarif Aliyev from the post of head of the Constitutional Court in the connection to transfer to other job. He was replaced by Izbillo Khojayev, who had previously been head of the Supreme Court,
Besides, the session elected Nusratullo Abdulloyev, formerly head of the Council of Justice (Shuroi Adliya), chairman of the Supreme Court. The upper house of the parliament elected Mahmadali Vatanov, deputy chairman of the Supreme Court. Sayfiddin Pirov was relieved of his post of deputy chairman of the Supreme Court in connection with transfer to other job.
The Majlisi Milli also relieved Salimboy Fathilloyev of his post of deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court, according to Saidov.
The session also approved a number of laws, including the RT Laws “On the State Material Reserve”, “On Amendments to the RT Law “On State Duties”, “On Amendments to the Tax Code” and “On Amendments to the RT Law “On Education.”
