DUSHANBE, February 28, Asia-Plus - The land using situation was one of major topics of a February 26 meeting of the Dushanbe government presided over by its chairman Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that the Dushanbe prosecutor Qurbonali Muhabbatov and the Dushanbe police directorate chief Fattoh Saidov had reported on this subject. They also reported on measures taken to prevent crime in the capital city.
The mayor demanded at the meeting that control of implementation of laws should be tightened. “He, in particular, ordered to check use of public places in microrayons and a progress of drawing school-age children into studying,” the spokesman said.
Saidov added that a city subbotink (day of volunteer work) on improvement of the city and planting it with trees will be held on the following Saturday. The Dushanbe department of public services and utilities as well as chairmen of the Dushanbe districts are to provide seedlings and flower seeds.
The mayor also ordered relevant municipal services to take strict measure before June 1 to provide the implementation of legislation prohibiting keeping of cattle and poultry in the city.
