DUSHANBE, May 4, Asia-Plus -- A progress of the implementation of president’s decrees and instructions as well as government’s resolutions on socioeconomic development of Gorno Badakhshan, computerization of schools in the region and improvement of the GBAO was the major topic of a government meeting presided over by President Rahmon on May 4.
Heads of relevant ministries and organizations attended the meeting. According to presidential press service, during the meeting it was noted that 9.6 million somonis in microloans have been provided to people in Gorno Badakhshan over the first quarter of the year, which is 2.5 times more than in the same period of 2006.
Abdufattoh Sharifzoda a spokesman for the president, said that in all, 60 million somonis in microloans are supposed to have been provided to the GBAO entrepreneurs this year.
According to him, Emomali Rahmon ordered to create computer classes at 100 schools in the region this year.
The meeting also discussed the present energy situation in the region. The head of state issued instructions to relevant bodies to complete rehabilitation of the Pamir-1 hydropower plant before November and work out the project for the construction of the Pamir-2 hydropower in the region.
Besides, the president demanded at the meeting that concrete proposals on repairing the central regional hospital, theatre and central stadium in Khorog should be prepared within ten days and submitted for consideration to the government.
He also ordered to take measures to provide general broadcasting of programs of Tajik national TV and radio over the region and improve studying conditions at Khorog State University and other educational facilities in Gorno Badakhshan.
Rahmon also ordered to prepare a design of monument of Shirinsho Shotemur that will be constructed in the Khorog Central Park.
