DUSHANBE, July 10, Asia-Plus — Public transport services were focus of a July 9 meeting of the Dushanbe mayor’s office presided over by Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said that Ubaidulloyev had demanded at the meeting that traffic police and transport inspectorate should strengthen their work in connection with rise in fixed-rout taxi fares.
The mayor demanded that traffic police should tighten control over schedule of public transport traffic in Dushanbe.
“In case of revealing violations in activity of traffic police and transport inspectorate to provide traffic safety, passengers as public inspectors may send information about that to the mayor’s e-mail: [email protected] ,” the spokesman said.
The meeting also considered issues related to the fire-prevention measures taken by enterprises and organizations in the city.
On the implementation of the construction program in Dushanbe, it was noted that all 26 facilities are being constructed at the expense of the city budget and construction work is being carried out according to schedule, the spokesman said.
