DUSHANBE, July 19, Asia-Plus — Members of Tajikistan’s upper chamber (Majlisi Milli) of parliament) have considered a number of Constitutional laws and amendments to them.
The 12th session of the Majlisi Milli of the third convocation presided over by its speaker, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, was held on July 19.
More than 50 issues were tabled to the session’s agenda.
The Majlisi Milli members, in particular, considered the Constitutional law on the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO and amendments to the Constitutional laws on courts and prosecutors.
The session also considered amendments to the country’s laws on state secret, veterans, narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors, architecture and town-planning, national bank, science and national scientific-technical policy, fight against human trafficking, combating corruption, police, transport, veterinary, military service, energy, etc.
The Majlisi Milli members Mahkam Mahmoudov, Amirsho Miraliyev, Mahmadsharif Tolibov, Mamadsho Ilolov and Alimurod Taghoymurodov telling the session underlined the importance of these laws and noted that they are fully in compliance with Tajikistan’s Constitution and international laws.
