DUSHANBE, November 28, Asia-Plus – Prime Minister Oqil Oqilov yesterday presided over a meeting to discuss the present situation in the country’s agrarian sector and preparations for the upcoming sowing campaign, Tajik national news agency Khovar said.
Heads of a number of ministries and organizations, state committees and banks, as well as domestic and foreign investors attended the meeting.
During the meeting, it was noted that the majority of districts had practically ended the cotton-harvesting campaign and a period of preparation of farmland for sowing campaign had started.
The prime minister pointed to the necessity of paying special attention to the issues of providing farmers with mineral fertilizers and fuels, fulfilling agricultural requirements, and preparing agricultural machines for the sowing campaign.
The meeting also considered issues related to elaborating and introducing mechanisms of allocating funds for carrying out the sowing campaign.
