DUSHANBE, April 1, 2009, Asia-Plus -- A March 31 cabinet meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, considered issues related to development of the Varzob district, including the progress of implementation of the tourism development program in the district, according to presidential press service.
During the meeting, it was also noted that four small power plants were introduced into operation in Varzob in 2007-2008 and another eight small hydropower plants are expected to be introduced into operation this year.
The session also considered a number of draft laws that will be submitted for consideration to the parliament.
The government, in particular, considered the bill on state registration of legal entities and private entrepreneurs that was worked out following last year’s address of the president to the parliament. The bill requires introduction of the single window principle for business registration in the country. The single window principle will allow reducing the number of the registration procedures from 13 to 3 and the duration of registration of legal entities from 49 to 5 days.
The government also considered a number of agreements singed between Tajikistan and other countries on education, tourism and sports cooperation, presidential press service said.
