DUSHANBE, September 14, 2009, Asia-Plus -- On Saturday September 12, President Emomali Rahmon met with a group of newly appointed judges, according to presidential press service.
By president’s decree Umed Boboyev was appointed the first deputy director of the National Legislation Center at the President of Tajikistan and Subhiddin Bahriddinov was appointed the deputy director of this center.
Besides, by president’s decrees 29 judges and heads of judicial organs were replaced and 15 young specialists were appointed to those positions.
Establishment of the rule of law was a major topic of the meeting and the president called on judges to ensure judicial justice and observe law while passing sentences.
Rahmon stressed that judge should not only pass sentences, they should also raise legal awareness and consciousness of citizens. He also called on young judges to strengthen their knowledge and professionalism through using Internet and other modern information and communications technologies.
The president charged heads of relevant institutions to organize refresher courses for judges not only inside the country but also abroad, the press service said.
