DUSHANBE, September 26, 2012, Asia-Plus -- During his working trip to the Danghara district in Khatlon province, President Emomali Rahmon yesterday visited the granary of the Somonjon Farm and got acquainted with work of local grain growers, the president’s official website reports.
Farmers in the Danghara district have reportedly produced more than 100,000 tons of grains so far this year. The Somonjon Farm alone has produced 20,000 tons of grains.
The president also visited the Khazlakhat Farm in the district. Local farmers have planted cotton on seven hectares this year and they plan to yield 3.5 tons of raw cotton from each hectare.
Yesterday afternoon, Emomali Rahmon attended a meeting of district administrators in Danghara. During an address to the meeting, Rahmon pointed to the necessity of efficiently using lands and stocking up basic food items for at least two years, the source said.
