DUSHANBE, September 29, 2012, Asia-Plus – The government considered a number of national development programs designed 2010-2015 at a September 28 meeting, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon.

According to the president’s official website, the meeting, in particular, heard a report by the minister of agriculture on the progress of implementation of president’s decree of August 27, 2010 on additional measures to ensure development of gardening and viticulture in Tajikistan during 2010-2014.

The minister noted that new gardens and vineyards have been planted on a total area of 36,600 hectares over the past two years, which is more than 5,000 hectares more than it was originally planned.

The head of the committee on emergency situations and civil defense (CES) reported on the process of implementation of the emergency management program designed for 2009-2014.

Last year, 15 million somoni from the national budget and more than one million U.S. dollars of investment funds were provided for enhancement of the CES resource and technical base.

The head of state pointed to the necessity of improving staffing and material security of the committee on emergency situations and civil defense.

The meeting considered and endorsed the national quality program designed for 2013-2015.

The meeting also considered and endorsed a draft constitutional law on the procedure of resolving of issues of territorial and administrative structure of Tajikistan, a draft law on commercial activity and domestic service, and draft laws requiring amendments to the country’s laws on the Majlisi Oli (Tajikistan’s parliament), local authorities, courts, licensing system, an competition and limitation of monopolistic activity in commodity markets.
