On Monday President conducted a session with senior officials of Sughd province in Kairakkum. The session focused on the results of socio-economic and cultural development of the province in the past 9 months this year and further development plans.
According to the President’s press service, E.Rahmon expressed his satisfaction over sustainable socio-economic development of Sughd province, but ordered regional officials to ensure more effective expansion of work.
He said that in the past 9 months this year the volume of gross regional production in the province reached 5.8 billion Somoni with the development rate of 8.8% and budget’s income of 111%.
At the same time he outlined that some cities and regions failed to fulfill the income plan and ordered regional officials to undertake efforts to ensure qualitative and timely performance of the income plan.
President Rahmon also told Sughd officials about the newly approved Tax Code and reduction in the number of taxes from 21 down to 10 and ordered related structures to carry out explanatory campaigns for tax payers in order to ensure the correct work of the new tax system. He also ordered to ensure effective and target use of budgetary funds.
President pointed out that establishment and the launch of 153 new industrial enterprises with 4000 workplaces in 2011 and in the past 9 months this year is not enough and stressed that the province should more effectively use its opportunities.
President ordered to provide comprehensive support to private business sector, especially to industrial sector, increase the volume of small credits, open branch offices of banks and credit organizations in all areas of the province and throughout the republic, expand agricultural works, including harvest of fruits, vegetables, cotton, improve counter-crime efforts and carry out effective campaigns to bring up the youth, prevent drug abuse, drug trafficking and other negative phenomena.
Head of Sughd Province Kokhir Rasulzoda and heads of a series of cities and regions presented their reports to the President. President Rahmon ordered them to increase production capacities and create more workplaces.
President’s official trip to Sughd area will end today, a source in the Government of the republic told the AP.
