At a control meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies in Dushanbe, the Chairman of the city, Rustami Emomali, set tasks to strengthen crime prevention, combat corruption and ensure public safety.
On August 19, the Chairman of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as the head of the city of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, held a working meeting with representatives of the capital's law enforcement agencies. This was reported by the press service of the city chairman's office.
The meeting was attended by the first deputy and deputy chairmen of the city, the chief of staff, heads of district administrations, heads of law enforcement agencies, as well as media representatives.
The key topics of the meeting were the fight against crime, ensuring public order, combating corruption, effective use of budget funds and improving the work of relevant departments.
Reports from representatives of the Prosecutor's Office, the court, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Committee for National Security, the Anti-Corruption Agency, customs, drug Control, and the Emergency Situations Committee were heard.
Rustam Emomali instructed the prosecutor's office to step up preventive work, especially in the field of crimes against sexual integrity, as well as to strengthen the fight against illegal land grabbing, unauthorized construction and unreasonable inspections.
The Mayor paid special attention to the problems in the judicial system, expressing dissatisfaction with the delay in the consideration of cases. He called for measures to be taken against judges whose actions undermine citizens' trust in justice.
A positive trend was also noted — a decrease in juvenile delinquency compared to last year. However, the mayor of the capital pointed out the need to continue preventive work, including measures to prevent fires, road accidents and conduct a broad awareness campaign among the population.
Of particular concern was the growing number of young people studying illegally in religious institutions abroad. Rustam Emomali stressed the importance of countering the involvement of young people in extremist movements and the influence of an alien culture.
In the area of combating corruption, the Mayor focused on strengthening the role of the anti-corruption agency and called reducing corruption one of the main tasks of local authorities.
At the end of the meeting, Rustam Emomali called for mobilizing all resources to strengthen law and order, reduce crime and successfully organize planned state and international events.
