During a working visit to the Sughd province, Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated several key projects, including a Smart TV assembly plant and new facilities aimed at boosting local industry and improving the quality of life for citizens.

Smart TV assembly plant in Istaravshan

A new Smart TV assembly plant under the national brand "Noor" has been opened in the city of Istaravshan. The enterprise, named "Faiz Noor-TV," is located in Industrial Zone No. 2 and includes four production workshops, a warehouse, a cafeteria, and an administrative building. The total investment in the project amounts to 6 million somonis.

The plant currently operates two production lines: one for assembling televisions and another for manufacturing and assembling household appliances. The company plans to expand its production in the future to include refrigerators, air conditioners, heating equipment, vacuum cleaners, and washing machines. The plant’s annual production capacity will reach up to 40,000 units of equipment. The launch of the plant has created permanent employment for 50 local residents, with salaries of up to 3,000 somonis.

Khavatag water production plant

In Istaravshan, President Rahmon also inaugurated the Khavatag water production plant, built by entrepreneur Mukhtor Yunusov. The plant produces 20,000 liters of water per day using modern Chinese technology. The water is bottled in plastic bottles of 0.5, 1, and 1.5 liters, with plans to expand production into glass packaging. The healing water is sourced from a depth of 1,580 meters and is used for treating various diseases.

The President emphasized the project’s importance for regional industrial development, job creation, and the improvement of public health. Additionally, a Khavatag resort project is planned, which will create 100 more jobs and provide services related to healing water treatments.

Asri Obod furniture factory

Another new facility, the Asri Obod furniture factory, was opened in Istaravshan. The factory includes 8 production workshops, employs more than 50 people, and manufactures 30 types of furniture. Plans for further expansion and the creation of new jobs are also in place.

Opening of educational and medical institutions

In a remote opening ceremony, President Rahmon also launched 10 new social infrastructure projects in Istaravshan. These included two medical centers — the private clinic Salohiddin and the Khushvakht medical center. A branch of Sanoatsodirotbonk (Industry & Export bank) was also opened, providing jobs for over 30 local residents.

Additionally, four new schools (Nos. 5, 46, 62, and 69) and three kindergartens were opened, which will accommodate more than 4,000 students and 400 children, respectively.
