During his working visit to Sughd province, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon yesterday inaugurated several social and industrial infrastructure projects, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
In the city of Khujand, the president officially opened a new building of the Arkon preschool institution, covering an area of 2,264 sq.m and designed for 360 children. The project was developed by Tajik and German architects in line with international "child-safe environment" standards. The kindergarten is equipped with 26 classrooms, 12 sleeping and rest areas, a canteen, a medical room, sports and music halls, a landscaped yard, and a summer veranda. Instruction will be provided in Tajik, Russian, and English. The institution employs 30 teachers, with a total staff of 75.
President Rahmon praised the construction quality and emphasized the importance of maintaining high educational standards.
Via remote connection, the president also inaugurated:
· Phase one of the Arkon secondary school for 600 students;
· Gymnasium No. 4 in Khujand for 1,700 students;
· The new building of School No. 26 in the village of Tomin (480 students), built for the 35th anniversary of independence;
· A modern sports ground in Gaberoud village, supported by entrepreneur Saifiddin Nourov.
School No. 26 was constructed with the support of the Anzob enterprise.
Private kindergartens opened
President Rahmon also opened the private Innovative Kindergarten Archa in Khujand, built by Fortuna Co. The kindergarten, designed for 500 children, was financed by the Ochilov family and established under the president’s initiative to expand preschool institutions in residential areas. It features smart classrooms, a gym, a canteen, eco-friendly infrastructure, and 18 groups across 25 rooms. Education is offered in Tajik, Russian, and English. Three buses have been purchased to transport children. The facility has created over 40 jobs.
Remotely, the president also inaugurated:
· Azizi Dilho Kindergarten, built by entrepreneur Nigina Ibodulloeva, for 120 children in four groups;
· Donoyak Kindergarten, launched by Mehrofarin LLC, for 60 children across three floors, with multilingual education.
Farinoush kindergarten and early childhood centers
In Ayni district, a new building for the Farinoush kindergarten, also dedicated to the 35th anniversary of independence, was inaugurated. It accommodates 40 children and includes classrooms, dormitories, and recreational rooms. The project was supported by local authorities and entrepreneurs from Tomin village.
On the same day, eight early childhood development centers were launched in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district, based at schools No. 23, 31, 10, 17, 11 (Guzn), 32, 11 (Ruzi), and another in Langar. Implemented under the “Early Childhood Development for Human Development in Tajikistan” program by the Ministry of Finance, each center provides additional education for 25–60 children.
President Rahmon stressed the importance of strengthening the preschool education system and instructed to continue expanding infrastructure and improving service quality.
New industrial enterprises: dairy and dried fruit production
In Khujand, the president launched the Sakhovat agro-industrial complex dairy plant, which can process up to 10 tons of milk per day and produce 12 types of dairy products under the “Sakhovat Milk” brand. The facility employs 30 locals. Equipment worth 800,000 somonis was imported duty-free as part of the country’s business support program.
He also inaugurated the Donai Almos dried fruit processing plant, built by entrepreneur Ozoda Hazratzoda on a 4,782 sq.m area. Equipped with modern technology, the factory processes up to 2,000 tons of fruits annually and produces over 20 product types for export to more than 30 countries. It currently employs 40 people, with plans to expand. Raw materials are sourced from local farms, and the process includes washing, sorting, and packaging.
President Rahmon emphasized the importance of product quality, packaging, and the promotion of the national brand in global markets.
New administrative building of FEZ Sughd
To conclude the visit, President Rahmon opened the new administrative building of the Sughd Free Economic Zone (FEZ Sughd) in Khujand. Covering over 10,000 sq.m, the building features modern offices, a conference hall, and a service center offering electronic services to businesses. It was built in honor of the 35th anniversary of independence.
An exhibition was held showcasing products from 48 SEZ enterprises under the “Made in Tajikistan” label. The president urged for increased production, exports, and the creation of favorable conditions for investors and entrepreneurs.
