The construction of the new building for the state institution "Residence of the Head of State of the Republic of Tajikistan" officially began in Khujand, according to the press service of the Sughd region administration.

The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by the governor of Sughd province, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, along with representatives from the local community.


The event emphasized the significance of the project for the region and the country as a whole.

 

Project details

The new building will consist of a basement floor and four above-ground floors. The basement will house parking, sanitary facilities, technical rooms, and service areas. The upper floors will include a museum dedicated to the Leader of the Nation (the titled granted to President Emomali Rahmon in 2015), multipurpose halls, a conference room, meeting rooms, a press conference hall, a hotel, and other necessary facilities.

The project was developed by the "Unified Window, Monitoring, and Urban Planning Cadaster" Center of the Dushanbe Main Department for Architecture and Urban Development.

The construction is commissioned by the executive authority of Sughd province and the construction company "Eurostroyservice."

 

Project background and future

The construction of the new presidential residence was initially planned in 2024. As previously reported by the press service of the Sughd region administration, the new building will be located on the same site as the current presidential residence, which will be demolished as part of the project.

This project is an important part of the infrastructure development and modernization of state buildings in Tajikistan, reflecting the country's ambitious plans to enhance public and governmental facilities.
