DUSHANBE, September 16, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Police in Dushanbe burned more than 466 kilograms of narcotics on September 16.
Mahmadullo Asadulloyev, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry says a totaled included 120 kilograms of heroin, 150 kilograms of raw opium and more than 230 kilograms of other types of narcotics.
According to him, the drugs were confiscated in the course of 2010-2011 and the drugs were material evidence in 208 criminal cases on which court verdicts have come into force.
Over the first eight months of this year, police officers have reportedly seized more than 1,700 kilograms of narcotics.
