DUSHANBE, February 14, 2012, Asia-Plus – On Monday February 13, General William M. Fraser III, Commander of U.S. Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), made his first visit to Tajikistan, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe said.
General Fraser recently took command of USTRANSCOM, which is responsible for meeting all U.S. Department of Defense global transportation requirements.
While in Dushanbe, General Fraser met with Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, Minister of Defense for the Republic of Tajikistan and Lieutenant-General Sherali Mirzo, Head of the Border Guard Administration. General Fraser formally introduced himself and personally thanked them for Tajikistan’s continued support and cooperation.
General Fraser is currently on a multi-nation tour, which includes several European and Central Asian countries.
