The US Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation handed Motorola radio equipment worth $170.000 to Tajik border guards. The equipment includes base station and mobile and portable shortwave radio transmitters.
According to the US Embassy in Tajikistan, the equipment will be used to raise Tajik border guards’ counter-drug and counter-extremism potential.
“Tajik border guards are professionals and their expressed willingness to improve their potential. We are proud to help,” an official of the Office of Defense Cooperation Charles Grab said at the handover ceremony.
