DUSHANBE, August 28, 2012, Asia-Plus – Dmitry Matushkin, an assistant to the commander of the Russian military base in Tajikistan, noted today that an anti-terror exercise for servicemen of the Russian military base have been conducted simultaneously in Dushanbe, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa.
The exercise, comprising anti-terror groups, reportedly included a special combat operation against illegal militant groups intruding from a neighboring state.
The exercise involved more than 150 military personnel, along with 20 armored vehicles and artillery, Matushkin said.
We will recall that under the current 10-year lease signed in 2004, Russia gets exclusive use of three military bases in Dushanbe, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and joint use of an air base free of charge.
