DUSHANBE, January 9, 2013, Asia-Plus -- Officers from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) have reportedly discovered the channel through which narcotics were being smuggled from Gorno Badakhshan to Dushanbe and from there to Sughd province.
According to the SCNS press center, a special operation was carried out by the SCNS officers in Khujand on January 4. Several packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to hashish weighing more than 28 kilograms were found hidden in a garage belonging to a native of Khorog, the source said.
Over the past ten days, officers from the SCNS’s office for Sughd province have reportedly carried out three successful operations which resulted in the seizure of 150 kilograms of narcotics.
