DUSHANBE, April 23, 2013, Asia-Plus -- An operation carried out by police officers in the Shouroobod district, Khatlon province has led to the seizure of a large amount of drugs.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, Toshmurod Choylobov, resident of Khatlon’s Farkhor district, was detained in the Shouroobod district yesterday on suspicion of having been involved in drug smuggling. More than eighteen kilograms of drugs were confiscated from him; a totaled included more than 10.6 kilograms of raw opium and some 7.8 kilograms of hashish.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug smuggler and an investigation is under way.
