DUSHANBE, December 11, 2014, Asia-Plus -- Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzoda yesterday received a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of China (MPS) led by the MPS Counterterrorism Department chief Jiang Weixin.

The Interior Ministry’s website says the sides discussed issues rated to state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation in combating terrorism, extremism, separatism and trafficking in weapons and drugs.   

The two sides reportedly expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Public Security of China.

The Ministry of Public Security of the People''s Republic of China (MPS) is the principal police and security authority of the mainland of the People''s Republic of China and the government agency that exercises oversight over and is ultimately responsible for day-to-day law enforcement. As the main domestic security agency in the People''s Republic of China, the MPS is the equivalent of the National Police Agency in Japan or national police in other countries.  It also controls and administers the People''s Armed Police.
